Vladimir Putin's Dark Rise to Power

This is an article that was posted in GQ last month. Some site called Ratafia has the article transcribed here. He transcribed it because Gawker was trying to get a russian translation here. The reason they were trying to get a Russian translation was because GQ did not print the article in Russia and NPR alleges that it was actively kept out of Russian citizens access. They got the Russian translation and I saw an interesting response from what is an anti-Trepashkin author, if not a pro-Putin guy here. And Trepashkin seems to have his own web of shady connections with Berezovsky and Litvinenko whom we all remembering for dying while staring at the camera and saying it was Putin who did it, but he was the author of a piece about how Putin fucks kids, so you gotta wonder.

Of course none of this really puts Putin in a good light to me since they were caught planting bombs in a Russian apartment building and that apparently a Mr. Stephasin who was the Prime Minister of Russi until August of '99 said that they were talking about bombing Moscow to start a war with Chechnya back then. And maybe Putin didn't carry it out but i highly doubt it considering he became the Prime Minister and was the head of the FSB.

But then again, I don't really know much about Russian politics and this shit seems to be Byzantine to the max.
